This incredible poster is a powerful compilation emotionally, visually and mentally and spiritually that honors our ancestors.
Here's an small section of the poem -
An uncertain “new world” was on the horizon; one without love, family, or faith, devoid of tradition and culture; strange tastes and languages, a new name, and an identity branded by fire.
The Door of No Return, stands as a portal filled with the winds of change.
From the ocean breeze that was barely felt at the bottom of the crowded slave ship;
To the gentle breeze of temporary relief on a swelteringly hot day while laboring in the fields;
To the cool breeze that came off the ocean during the slave market as a family is torn apart;
To the freezing winter winds that came with a low howl as it blew through the cracks in the walls of your slave cabin on the plantation.
